Mom records 16-year-old daughter jumping on the trampoline and posts it on social media to mock her: 'She got upset, telling me to lighten up and take a joke'

It's so rough being a teenager in the age of social media. It used to be that you compared yourself to everyone at your high school, which only had a couple hundred students. Now, you can compare yourself to everyone your age with a TikTok account, which amounts to millions and millions of users. It used to be the case that your mom could only really embarrass you around other people in real life, but for the past 15 years, moms have been able to humiliate their children from the comfort of their homes via the World Wide Web. Nobody even bats an eye anymore when a mom posts videos of her children crying their eyes out on Instagram Reels for thousands of eyes to see. Anyone who dares criticize this type of posting will get ratio'd to high heaven in most cases. The daughter in this story is the victim of one of these situations.

    During competition, you need to tense up and be professional On the other hand, in your private life, you just want to relax alone or with someone who is close to you. Tell them, filming you makes you uncomfortable and will make you stress out. Help them understand this point of view.

The best way to shut these types of people down is a public shaming. Repost a video the mom has posted with some mean comments screenshotted and tell everyone how it makes you feel.     TrashPandaLJTAR NTA. As a mother, if one of my kids said "I stopped doing something that I enjoyed because you posted it online and it embarrassed me" I'd be entirely mortified and feel horrible. The difference between competition and fun is that you're consenting to people watching you when you're competing. Someone recording you and posting it without permission is not giving consent. Especially if they're doing it with the intent to poke fun at you.
